A refound "life artist"
Been reading the Ali E. life artist book....nothing but inspiration pours through it.. "It is OK," has been a learning tool for me...as well as being a "life artist" not just a "scrapbooker." Nice new refreshing title. Thanks Ali.
I don't have alot to say today...for so much is going on, but i do have a few projects i've done, so now it's time to share...
This first project was n 18 x 18 piece of scrap wood that i painted quite a few layers of paint, then wet and wiped with paper towel to create a distressed look. I love the outcome..Then i square punched a bunch of my fav. christmas scrap paper to create a mosaic collage. I wound up giving this to Jeremy's mom, to put her in the christmas spirit...it freakin worked!!! The next day she took down all of her christmas decorations to get ready for the holiday. I love the holidays, and all of the festivities that come with it..

No words could match this..
A few feelings from the weekend before last..
No words could match the feeling i get everytime i look up at the stars...on a clear night(i must emphasize that..)Out in the wilderness, hearing only natural life surrounding us. The meteor shower, 'the leonids" was last weekend. We began to see a trace of them in the sky..I only counted three the whole time, unfortunately..beautiful none the less...If I'm not mistaken, the leonids path makes its was around the sun. As we orbit the sun, we pass it once a year, Nov. 17th. it's the most amazing thing to be able to look up & experience such a thing. Hundreds of stars falling by the hour..No beauty could match this...
Here are a few pics from the weekend...good times..
this is the fire that we strategically built..It's not as hard as it looks ;)
And i love the night portrait setting on the camera...let's you make frequent errors that come out interesting. For the record, i was looking up at the stars..
Bubba's camera pretty much kicks ass. I finally found the macro button to be able to take these amazing pictures of this butterfly that kept "flirting" with us..Seriously...he stuck around for AT LEAST 10 minutes. it was pretty sweet.
And here's my little bow hunter-Jeremy. I helped them make the bullseye below (keep in mind we're at "the camp" and resources are limited). We used some spray paint, a foam bedding folded in half, and different circles (styrofoam plate, top to a paint bucket, etc.)
And this is the ever-amazing bayou...Of course i had to play with the editing features..(made this one negative)
And here is a picture of some flowers that i took on my four wheeler ride on the trails.

And i know i haven't posted any artsy pics...I will i will...it's been a crazy one over on my side of the world..Between being an emotional woman..procrastinator..always on the go..type of girl...I'm not balancing my time very efficiently...EEK

::Simplicity Awaits::
“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” Leonardo DaVinci
There’s something about the crisp cool air breezing around me..that persuades me to open the window and drift off…I realize now that I don’t get many Days to SLOW DOWN and stand beside myself…nowhere to go…to just be..i miss being able to sit outside on the front porch alone as the wind blows and birds chirp..Smelling the flowers in the air…watching people walk by..wondering what they may be up to…no distractions or demands from my fast paced life…I work so much…and have grown to fear being at home alone, for the fact that we live in a TERRIBLE part of town..and I’ve quite frankly already had a few scares there…Don’t want to have to go through that again..jeremy and I have it pretty balanced so he works half the time during the day enabling me to sleep next to him at night, but still gains his extra money for working nights the other part of the week..During those times, I go elsewhere to find comfort…okay that sounded terrible…jeez…I go to my aunts in other words and crash on her couch..i don’t mind being there, I just miss my space…my time at home…my art “oasis”..i get tired or carrying all my stuff wherever I go b/c I’ve got that itch…I can’t wait to move…and not only because we will begin our journey, but b/c maybe will be in a safer place…A place I still want to call home…a place I can do all of those things mentioned above…I miss when Sara was here, b/c she’d always come stay the night with me keeping me cozy in my bed…watch some movies…share insights…the whole nine…I miss her…And no I’m not sad..by any means of the word…Actually, I really couldn’t be happier otherwise…you just have to make due when you can't have things exactly how you want them:)….I just miss the simplicity of things sometimes…
On another note...Bubba's coming to town!!!! We LOVE Bubba..He's one of the greatest, most genuine friends you could ask for...We have lot's o' fun in store when he gets here. Plan on going to the camp for 2 nights..on the bayou..(my love) which means We'll be surrounded by nature, bare necessities, FOUR WHEELER, exploring, deep thoughts, campfire, and the METEOR SHOWER!!! The first time around that jeremy and I dated, the first "date" he took me on was to the camp to watch the meteor shower..The sky was dark, the stars shown brighter than you could possibly imagine..And you became hypnotized to all that you saw...the stars kept falling...it was simply amazing..
We also have plans to see TOOL in New Orleans-rock out!! This will be ...say...time number 4 or 5 that i've seen them...From there we still have a few days, with no set plans, but were talking about going to the bike trails..We have an amazing bike trail here in Baton Rouge...lots of hills and curves...a river flowing by it at one point...FREAKIN SWEET!!!!
And i can't stop thinking about the fact that Tori Amos will be as close as Houston, and I can't afford to go...She puts on the most breathtaking performance that you feel all the way down to your toes....I WANT TO GO!!!!!!! maybe a miracle will happen....i think i might die:)

3. If you knew how to do both awesome cards and layouts, but could only do one for a year which would you do?i would do layouts..for the simple fact that IM SO FAR behind on my pictures ive taken...REALLY
4. Would you rather own a scrapbooking store or have your own scrapping room at home (can't have both, lol) oooooohhhhh..this is hard....i guess i would go with the ULTIMATE scrapping room....i like my own personal space..its inspiring...and as much as id LOVE to have my own store...my passion is art...and i can always have my space..but the store may not last forever...::sighs::
5. And then last but not least, what is your current cardmaking or scrapping style?

Reality Strikes
So last week, I was watching CNN. They were doing a story on endangered species & illegal importing of animals in China, Thailand & America..The percentage rate of forced animal extinction-compared to natural exstinction/eveolution was breathtaking...The caged animals they showed mistreated, killed for furs, used for decor, etc..made me tear up..Turtles, birds, tigers, ferretts, bears, reptiles...The animals are malnourished-set in extremely hot settings, not much food and water...
To put it into perspective: 90% of animals smuggled into America die before they reach their destination.. Defenseless animals..with no choice..no chance to survive.what is this world becoming???
